The Hawaii Business Roundtable is a statewide public policy organization made up of the CEOs and senior executives of companies headquartered or maintaining significant operations in Hawaii. The Roundtable’s mission is to promote the overall economic vitality and social health of Hawaii. To accomplish this mission, the Roundtable has focused on a limited number of specific issues where the knowledge and perspective of its members can make a unique contribution. Please see our Policy Agenda for areas of focus.
The Roundtable also serves as a forum for the discussion of issues which are of wide community interest and could impact business.
Since its founding in 1983, the members of the Hawaii Business Roundtable have shared a commitment to a common goal: a better future for the people of Hawaii. We also share the conviction that persistent advocacy, combined with a focus on a limited number of issues of broad importance to Hawaii, is the most effective way to utilize the knowledge and perspective of Roundtable members.
Education and the economy continue to be the Roundtable’s major concerns. Our top education priority is the development and implementation of a school accountability system based upon high academic standards that will ensure that every student is able to realize his or her potential. We also believe that the University of Hawaii can play a critical role as a catalyst for economic development and we will work closely with the University toward this end. Above all, we are committed to forging a stronger partnership between the public and private sectors in order to strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life for everyone in Hawaii.
